HELLO!
Sorry I didn’t post yesterday.
I was busy… doing nothing.
HA!
I did have some technical issues.
So, I just waited a day instead of rushing anything.
Things have been going great.
I had a fun photo shoot yesterday.
I GOT TO GO TO THE BEACH!
….hold up…..
Thunder?
I’ll be right back.

.
I saw nothing.
LIES!
I’m keeping an eye out the window.
Where was I……..
OH! THE BEACH!
I had to get some local attractions to help sell this house.
So, I went to the beach and showed that and a county park and showed that.
Cool things around the house.
I did take my time on the assignment.
I enjoyed the day.
Other than that, it was a normal week.
That’s all I got.
ONTO THE PHOTO!
This is the final photo in the series from St. Patrick’s Park.
Here is part one, here is part two, and here is the VHS project that started it all.
Back in 2013, I shot this photo…

ONTO THE PHOTO!
This is the final photo in the series from St. Patrick’s Park.
Here is part one, here is part two, and here is the VHS project that started it all.
Back in 2013, I shot this photo…
I’ve always loved it.
I’m a fan of optical illusions.
Since then, I’ve wanted to remake the photo in a new way.
Of course, I could just go back the to place I shot this one.
That’s too easy.
I wanted it to look new and have a steeper hill.
I’ve been waiting so long to find the right spot.
I do a lot of traveling now because of my job.
I always find myself looking at hills and slopes, trying to find the best spot.
But those spots are usually in someone’s yard or on the highway where I can’t stop.
I was worried that it will never happen again.
But then I saw that hill in the park and I got all tingly inside.
I finally found the spot and I was able to remake the photo…
AIN’T THAT NEAT!??!
I love it!
IT’S JUST WHAT I WANTED!
I’m happy.
I’M HAPPY!
It took me 10 minutes to find the right spot and angle on that hill.
Then when I got home, it took me an hour…?... I think?
It took a while to edit the photo and make it perfect.
I had to add custom blur to the photo because the background wasn’t blurred enough.
The trees were too crisp and it was throwing everything off.
So, I added in a field blur that wasn’t too strong but that caused me to be blurry as well.
SO! I had to hand select myself and paste myself onto a new layer that was about the blurry layer.
It was tedious, but it paid off!
Lastly, I just added some saturation to make everything pop!
COMPARE THE EDITS!
Hover your mouse (the computer one :-P) over the original picture to see the after editing one.
If you're on a touchscreen device, just tap on the picture. You may have to tap more than once.
That compared the cropping that I did to get me more centered.
I didn’t have my monitor so I couldn’t see.
And also the hill wasn’t exactly level, so I tilted the photo even more!
Next, compare all the Photoshop work that I did…
LOVELY!
Let's try the Image Slider for a split comparison.
CLICK and DRAG the BLUE BAR around to get our own split image.
Or, you can use these presets.
Before FULL, After FULL, 50/50, Before a QUARTER, or After a QUARTER.
IT’S THAT AWESOME!
That blur makes the photo so much better!
I love it.
And it’s photo 450!!
Such a perfect number, for a perfect photo.
It’s amazing.
I love all these photos in this series.
I had fun.
It brought me back to the good old days of simple photos.
SPEAKING OF SIMPLE!
ONTO THE VIDEO!
The video is simple and to the point, like how they used to be.
There’s not a lot of time wasted like in my past videos that are 40 minutes long.
This one is just 25 minutes and all of that is about the trip to the park and editing the photos.
You can CLICK HERE to see the video or watch it below.
ALRIGHT!
That’s it.
I mentioned in the video what the next project will be.
It’ll be a selective color challenge.
I’ll set my camera to only display one color and I have to shoot a photo incorporating that color.
I’ve already started the project and I’m liking the results!
I can’t wait for you to see them.
I’ll see you then!
When exactly is “then”?
I don’t know.
It won’t be too long.
