Picture 447 | The Last of the College Projects...

OI
!
Do you how do?
I’m fine.
I’ve just been swimming through life.
Wait… I can’t swim… that well.
I’m just been running through life.
Wait… I hate running… it hurt my holy lung.
Yes, my lung is blessed.
I’ve just been briskly walking through life.
Yes, that’s better.
Nothing else to say really.
I still have my “job”, even though I’m not employed.
I’m still getting at least a shoot a day.

Things have slowed down a bit, though.
I don’t really mind.
I would if I was on my own, but right now, I’m enjoying the free time.
Last week we went back to the park that I visited for the VHS project.
This time I had normal cameras and I shot the extra photos that I wanted to get.
So, look forward to that after this!
The video of us walking around is already edited, I just need to edit the photos and put that part into the video.
If I do this right, the video should be super short.
As in not 50 minutes, like this week’s video.
We’ll see how that goes.
I need to get started on the Job Update video.
I wanted it to end with me moving out, but that hasn’t happened yet.
I’m making enough to move out, it’s just that there are many places I could go.
The area for our company is pretty huge and all of our photographers cover in certain sections of that area.
The best place for me would be wherever there is a hole in the coverage.
So, we are deciding the best spot for me.
Patience.
Anyways, onto the photo!
This week’s post is about the end of my college journey.
The video mostly covers the video class and what I did.
I do briefly recap some of my old projects in the video as well.
That’s where this photo comes in.
I needed a photo for this post.
I didn’t shoot any photos during the video class because it’s video, not photo!
So, that's what sparked me to go through my old projects.
I’ve used almost all the photos I shot of me for any of my college projects.
The only photos left were the ones from my Fine Art class.
So, I looked in there and found one of my favorite photos that I made.

AIN’T THAT JUST NEAT?!?!?
I forgot about this photo and how much I loved it.
It was a part of a series that I did on cell phones and how much I hate them.
Here are the rest of the photos in the series…

I had a message.
This also ties into the video class as well, which is what this week’s video is about.
I did a PSA on cell phones and how much I hate them.
A lot of my projects did that.
They interconnected together.
And everything culminated in the video class.
Sort of.
I wasn’t able to expand on all the themes that I talked about through my college journey.
Just a few, and most of the ideas I went back to were from my Fine Art class.
Ok, the photo.
It wasn’t that hard to make.
The only big issue was that I didn’t have a cell phone at the time.
I never needed one until almost a year later.
So, a big thanks to my mom for letting me steal her phone.
The setup that simple, just a piece of tape and a phone.
The phone did keep falling off of my face…
But I eventually got the shot I wanted…
Now for the editing.
This was tricky but easy to do.
I just needed to get rid of the tape holding the phone and the Apple logo.
The logo was easy, the hard part was that I had to reconstruct some of my hair were the tape was.
So, I took my hair from a previous take of the photo and applied it this version.
It worked!
Lastly, I edited the colors.
I was going for soft, but crisp.
I wanted to show that people live fake, dreamt up lives through their phones.
So, I wanted the photo to have a soft, dream-like quality to it.
COMPARE THE EDITS!
Here’s the cropping that I did…
Hover your mouse (the computer one :-P) over the original picture to see the after editing one.
If you're on a touchscreen device, just tap on the picture. You may have to tap more than once.

And lastly, here’s all the Photoshop/Lightroom work that I did…

Let's try the Image Slider for a split comparison.
CLICK and DRAG the BLUE BAR around to get our own split image.
Or, you can use these presets.
Before FULL, After FULL, 50/50, Before a QUARTER, or After a QUARTER.
Before
After
I LOVE IT!
Like I said, this was one of my favorite photos.
I’m glad I finally got to use it.
ONTO THE VIDEO!
The video covers the final class of my college journey, the video class.
It’s a long one!
50 minutes!
And all of that is about the end of my college experience.
It has bloopers and extra parts from my video projects, including the video projects themselves!
You can CLICK HERE to see the video or watch it below.

Now if you want to see the BTS for the photo, you’ll have to go to a different video.
But in September 2017 is when I worked on the Fine Art projects.
And I uploaded a video and a blog post about those projects back then.
Luckily, I’ll save you the trouble of hunting down the video.
The video should play at the part where I shoot this week’s photo.
If it doesn’t, skip to 48:30 in the video.
Unless you want to watch the whole thing.

ALRIGHT!
That’s it.
This was a great way to end my college run.
I had fun.
There is a separate Film and Video degree.
I could go back……………………
WE’LL SEE!!
ANYWAYS!
I told you what the next post will be about.
I shot three photos at that place.
So, I’ll upload the first two without the video.
Then the third and final photo will have the BTS video of all the photos.
Ok?
Ok.
I’LL SEE YOU THEN!!
