Picture 432 | The Fourth Contest-Part One...

ELLO!
I’m still alive!
Things didn’t seem to cheery last time I posted.
Well GUESS WHAT!!
I’m better now!
I think…..

Anyways, classes are finally done!
That’s why it took another month for me to post something.
It was getting towards the end of the semester and I was busy.
Last time I talked about how I’m not going to be able to graduate.
 That’s still true.
I did talk with the head photo guy and we got everything all set up.
I’ll finish in the fall!
I do still have to take one summer class.
I wanted to take it all in the fall, but it’s a summer only class… :-\
Oh well.
That class will start up in a month, so I have some free time now!
I used that time to finally get the Contest videos edited.
The contest happened over four months ago… so the videos are a bit late!
BUT THEY ARE DONE!
I have over eight hours of footage and a lot of that wasn’t about the contest.
So, I trimmed out all the fat and part the video into three parts.
I still included some of my unusual ramblings, which is why my videos are so long.
I left the ramblings in because they help each part connect to one another.
Part one covers just before we prepared for the contest, including an extra photo shoot with a squirrel.
Part two covers us finding some photos, printing them, and turning them in.
And then part three is the contest results.
Parts one and two are 30 minutes long, and the last part is 50 minutes.
Ok?
Good.
Now that the roadmap is set up.
Let’s begin.
The last contest had two parts.
I used a photo of me that was turned in for the contest to cover one part.
Then a selfie of the results for the other part.
This year, we didn’t have a photo of me in the contest.
I had photos that were for parts two and three, but not part one.
So, I looked back through old park videos to find a photo I didn’t use.
It kind of goes with what we did for the contest.
We didn’t shoot any new photos.
The photos we turned in were old ones from past contests or leftovers from school projects.
We’ll do better next year!
Side note: I keep saying “we” instead of “I” because my Aunt was there to help!
Thanks….. AUNT!
Anyways, that’s where this photo comes from.
It was a leftover from the last contest.
It was from the same shoot where I got one of the award-winning photos.
The GoPro was set up to take a photo every five seconds.
I was walking to a new location in the little stream and it caught me!
I think I mentioned this photo before.
I can’t remember.
I’ve always liked it because of the lens flare.
It’s in the shape of…. Something.
I just never used it as a photo…… UNTIL NOW!!
For the editing part, I didn’t really do much.
I bumped up the saturation to make it all purrdy.
I turned down the orange levels because I looked like an Umpa Lumpa.
Lastly, I messed with the brightness and contrast.
Overall, I LIKE IT!!
COMPARE!!!
Hover your mouse (the computer one :-P) over the original picture to see the after editing one.
If you're on a touchscreen device, just tap on the picture. You may have to tap more than once.

That was comparing the cropping that I did.
Now compare the actual editing!

IT'S LOVELY!
Let's try the Image Slider for a split comparison.
CLICK and DRAG the BLUE BAR around to get our own split image.
Or, you can use these presets.
Before FULL, After FULL, 50/50, Before a QUARTER, or After a QUARTER.
Before
After
OK! Onto the video… FINALLY!!
Now, keep in mind….
These videos are reallllly old.
They were shot before the contest, which was at the end of January.
There’s a part where it’s New Year’s Eve.
So, let’s just say this part takes place six months ago.
You can CLICK HERE to see the video or watch it below.

THAT’S ALL!
I was going to wait until next week to upload part two… but I can’t wait!!!
It’ll be out in two days!!!
SEE YOU THEN!!!
