Sorry this post is late.
I had a busy day and fell asleep at 8!...PM!!!
And didn't wake up until now.
It's 7:30...AM!
So.....SORRY!
Onto the post....
So….I failed again.
Ok, this time it wasn't so bad.
Last week I talked about my underwater project.
It was the weirdest experience….ever.
Just being in the tub with four cameras watching you is weird.
Even with clothes on!
Anyways, I failed because it was supposed to be done for this week.
But, that's not the case.
The reason why is because the video isn't done.
And the picture as well!
I have be so focused on the video that I don't even have the picture done.
The video is bigger than I thought.
It takes a while to sync up four cameras.
Well, three cameras were easy because they were always going.
I had the find the right spots for the little GoPro videos I made in between pictures.
And then I have to pre-render everything!
Four videos going at once is a lot.
And the program has a problem playing all those videos back.
So, I have to pre-render everything so I’m able to watch everything and edit it.
And if something is out of sync, I have to adjust it and the render again!
It just a long time consuming process.
I got done with day one.
I still have the bigger day two to work on.
Day two was much better.
I think I got a picture or two!
And the water stayed clear because I had really clean clothes.
There’s still work to be done.
And thus, I had to push it back again.
And the good thing about this week's picture is that it’s a series!
I don’t know how long though.
Probably one more week.
I have to really look at the pictures on day two of that project to see if there's more.
Yes, there's two days for the Fog Project.
As of late, it's been really foggy in the morning.
So, I’m went out and made some pictures!
The first one is the only one I got in the first day.
The second day I got more!
It's always the second day.
This isn't my first fog project.
I made a few pictures in a series.
There was going to be more, but I never finished it.
I still have part three unedited on my HDD…just sitting there.
Maybe I'll work on it!
Enough about that, ON TO THE PICTURE!
This one was easy!
It was the only one I got because I didn't have a lot of time to be out.
Even though I was out for a while.
I was distracted with other things.
I was just enjoying the pretty walk down my roads.
I was walking and I looked down the road and had one of those “PICTURE!” moments.
I see a scene and in my head I scream…….PICTURE!
So, I made one.
I didn't have that moment again, so I didn't make anymore.
Simple!
For the coloring, I wanted to bring out the fog.
I thought...black and white!
High contrast.
Something gloomy!
I turned up clarity, like I always do.
And then in the process of sliding saturation down…I stopped half way.
I had a moment.
One of those few moments when I see a picture and go….”whoa”.
I pause and just stare at it like…..”whoa…that looks awesome.”
I had that happen three times!
I pushed the contrast up…..”whoa”.
I pushed highlights up to make the fog brighter….”whoa”.
I tuned down shadows and blacks to make them more prominent and darker.
Usually I turn them up.
Because the contrasts and clarity makes everything darker.
So, I counter that by turning them up.
But I didn’t this time.
Overall, every change I did made it even better!
It was amazing.
I kept getting lost in it.
COMPARE!

COMPARE!
Hover your mouse (the computer one :-P) over the original picture to see the after editing one.
If you're on a touchscreen device, just tap on the picture. You may have to tap more than once.
Ok, time for some EXTRA STUFF!!
I prepared a not cropped version of the picture.
So you can compare the changes better without it jumping around.
NICE!!
Awesome…just awesome!
I really love the look of it.
I try to give my pictures their own feel.
Each one of them.
This one just turned out epic!
….for being so gloomy.
Now this wasn't the only take I made.
It was the first one though.
Below is the second try that I did.
It has all the same coloring made to it.
Compare it to the one I picked and see if I was wrong!
AMAZING!!
Just what I wanted!
Let's try the Image Slider.
Here's how it works...
There's a blue bar in the middle of the picture.
That's the slider.
The slider will disappear when you move your mouse off of the image.
I did that so you can really see the split.
But, it'll come back when you hover over it again.
You can CLICK on it and DRAG it around to get our on split image.
Or, you can use these presets.
Before FULL, After FULL, 50/50, Before a QUARTER, or After a QUARTER.
There is a BTS video.
Usually with a project, I just make it all one big video.
However, this one is different.
I could have made it one video.
But, the last time I used cameras was for fireworks.
I record those at 60fps, instead of 30.
It makes them look better!
So, I forgot that the cameras were on 60.
I noticed on the big camera right away.
When the video records, it plays back on the screen at 60.
So, I could tell.
I turned it back to 30.
But! I decided to record most of the talking and other things with the slo mo cam.
The slo mo cam always plays at 60 on the screen when you record.
So, I couldn't tell.
That led me to record the whole walk and other things at 60fps.
So, instead of changing it, I went with it.
I turned all the cameras up to 60 and kept doing.
However, the next day for part two, I turned them all back down.
60 frames is hard to edit.
I have to pre-render everything!!!
Because it lags dousing play back.
So, in order to edit…I must render.
It was a pain.
But I did do it.
So that's why day one is its own video.
It's at 60 frames per second!
It's also 46 minutes and 46 seconds long and mostly me talking and walking.
You can CLICK HERE to see the video or watch it below.
That video took 13 hours to upload!!!
THAT'S IT!
I like being up this early.
I got a lot of work finished.
I'm also on the big computer in the basement.
I work better on that one.
Anyways, before I go, I want to mention my work!
Of course, I don't have a job job.
But that could change.
My WORK is my pictures and my sites.
A few days ago, I started working on something.
I had a lot of things floating around on the sites.
By floating, I mean on the screen.
Buttons, quick links, other things.
I had a BUNCH of things on the main site.
Well, I wanted to clean them up.
So, I made the little bar you see at the top of the screen!
I took two big floating things and compressed them into a little bar.
It looks much better!
Even more happened on the main site.
I have a bottom bar over there.
I compressed things in to there as well.
Just trying to make things less distracting and out of the way!
A clean site, is a happy site.
COME BACK NEXT WEEK FOR MORE FOG!!!
