So, I got this idea..."Holding the World!!!"
I thought about what to do for awhile.
I found this picture of this Earth
And I still didn't know exactly what to do. I had to ask my mom to help. We decided on a totally dark background, but I was thinking about if I would have to world blocking my face, or just have me holding the world and have the darkness blocking my face. We decided to have the Earth blocking my face.
So, the next thing I had to do is make the pictures. I need total darkness with one light source.
And the sun was rising fast, so I had to work quick before it rose.
I started by blacking out the room.
I still wanted to be far away from window. So, I cleared out a spot against the far wall that also would be a good place for me to sit down and have a full white wall in the background. A clean white background is good for editing.
Then, I got the camera and light set up and took a test picture to see what it looked like.
Once I get everything ready to go, I started experimenting on what I'm going to actually be doing. I took a picture with the ball that would help me know the size a location of the Earth. It really didn't work out at all. So, I re-planned and took out the ball and I took the series of pictures below the ball picture.
I looked at them and decided to go with the bottom right one. Once I did that, I got ready to edit.
(Remember: The words above explains the pictures below them. Don't get mixed up!)
First, I loaded everything adjusted the colors and contrast with the picture I picked.
My hands were still over-exposed. So, I Quick Selected only them and continued adjusting to colors and contrast.
That's what I got.
Then, I used the Optical Selection tool to select the Earth...because it's a circle.
I never deselected my hands while selecting the Earth.
So, I copied and pasted another layer of hands and then added the Earth.
Then, I placed them all together.
After that, I started selecting me so I could delete the background.
This was hard because of all the shadows and my wear a dark coat. I only wanted me, no shadows.
Finally, after 10 minutes, I was done.
Once I was selected, I used the Inverse Selection option.
Hear's how that works. Only myself was selected before, not the background. But now, it deselected me and selected the background. I selected what wasn't selected and deselected what's selected. Simple!
Now that the background is selected, I whited it all out with the Paint tool.
I was just going just to have black...but it looked to boring. So, I Google'd some pictures of stars.
All those where boring, so I Google'd and found a picture of the Milky Way Galaxy. Our home.
And then I just put it in there...Simple.
And after 2 hours BOOM! We have a picture. It's not my best just, but it's ok.
