Picture 429 | The Month of School Projects...

Ummmmm……. Hi.
How are things!!!!??!?!
I love things!
I’m doing fine.
Except for my car being…. Dead.

The transmission has gone to shpoop.
It’ll cost $1800 to fix it.
Jgsjlgfsgjlfjfhdjhfdgjhjfhfdgfghdfgjhdfgk
I’ll take it to another shop and see what they say.
It’s fine some days and then it’s not some other days.
So, the transmission isn’t completely bad.
I don’t know……
Bleh.
Other than that, I’ve just been busy…
…which is why I’ve been gone for almost a month now.
There was a boatload of college projects to do.
I decided to work on those.
And a few of the projects will appear on this blog as a new picture!
So, even though I was working on photo projects for my photo class, I was also working on the blog pictures as well!
It’s a WIN WIN!
So, what have I been up to?
In my Illustrator class, we had to turn a picture of mine into an illustration.
I did miss understand what we were doing.
We gathered five images and from that, we pick one to illustrate.
I read it as… you illustrate all five……
Oops.
So, I would have been so busy if I would learn how to read.
ANYWAYS!!
Here are a few that I did!
You’ll see the picture that I chose and then next to it is the illustration…
 AIN’T THAT JUST NEAT!!
It was fun!
I like the way the house turned out, but I could use that one as the final image.
The goal was to use the brush tool and I used the pen tool for that.
The next project uses the pen tool to turn a portrait into an illustration.
So, I’m already prepared for that.
I’m not sure what portrait I’m going to use… we’ll see…. ;-)
While working on that stuff, I had photo projects to do as well!
We did some studio stuff for my Studio Lighting class, which you can see.
We also did stuff in my Fine Art class.
We covered three photography styles.
Pictorialism, Modernism, and Post-Modernism.
Modernism was the easiest.
Here are two examples!
Clean, sharp lines.
Simple.
Here are all the pictures that I did!
That glassware is from the grandparent’s house.
If you didn’t know, we’ve been cleaning it up and getting more suitable for living.
The grandparents are getting old.
So, we are trying to make things easier for them WITHOUT tossing them into a nursing home.
We are just trying to help, even if they don’t see it that way.
So, that also has been taking up my free time.
ANYWAYS!
While cleaning it out, we found this cool glassware all over the place.
I decided to use their clean…. sharp lines… for my Modernism!
Plus, it’ll show off the cool glassware.
And just so it wasn’t the same thing over and over, I shot a few extra things.
The next style to do was Pictorialism.
The goal of Pictorialism was to make the photo look old.
Examples….

I kind of missed the mark.
Yes, the photos were supposed to look old, but not have modern things as well.
A few of my pictures do.
I went for the weird side of it, like in the examples.
HERE’S WHAT I DID!!
Here’s one of the originals for you to compare the effects that I applied…
I had really had fun with those!
I was thinking of the Post-Modern while doing these.
So, some of them are both Pictorial and Post-Mod.
The one with me on the couch is more Post-Mod than the ones I was for… Post-Mod.
Speaking of Post-Modern, here are the examples!
Post-Modern could be whatever we wanted.
But, they had to express our innermost feelings.
Which is something I’ve been doing for almost nine years!
I shot whatever popped into my head.
I sat down and just created a little list of what came up…
SCREENSHOT!
The goal was to show how I feel about cell phones and well…. Myself.
I have yet to have a phone.
I haven’t really needed on.
I don’t have any friends to talk to…………………
SO! Because don’t have a phone I actually see the world that’s around me!!
I’m not staring at a screen all the time!
Well, I am.
I come home and sit in front of my computer.
But I was that for ACTUAL…. WORK!!
:-O
AMAZING!!
So, I made pictures that sort of describe that.
Then, I also decided to have a few photos about myself!
So, naturally… the photos involved….. someone.
I even used some of my old photos to show that I've been this way for a while.
They are pictures 3 and 4 in the column below.
Click on them to go to their own blog posts!
ANYWAYS!!! Here they are… Post-Modern….
AHHH! I love them!
Those were the most fun!!
It was exciting!
I was nervous though.
I wasn’t the only one.
During everyone's critique, they were all shy and nervous as well.
We were expressing our feelings!
It was interesting.
These of these pictures will probably be a separate blog post.
So, I’ll explain each story when I get to it.
LASTLY!!!
AFTER ALL THIS… well actually before I worked on any of this.
STILL, AT THE SAME TIME!!!
I had to do some studio stuff.
That’s where this picture comes from.
We were testing different lighting ratios.
The goal was to make one good portrait of someone.
However, I couldn’t find a someone.
So, I went a little Post-Modern again and made… the Portrait of a Lonely Soul…
He is so lonely…
He is so sad…
I didn’t have anyone to get a portrait of.
So, I was lonely… and sad.
ANY... WAYS!!
I decided to use this as this week’s picture before I get started on the other photos.
It seems easier.
Plus, my Aunt keeps asking when I was going to upload this picture.
She likes it way too much.
IT’S UPLOADED NOW…
ARE YOU HAPPY???!?!?!
It is a little different from the one she liked.
I went back and re-edited it with my own pizzazz…
I didn’t want to go too crazy for the studio class.
SO!! COMPARE!!!
Hover your mouse (the computer one :-P) over the original picture to see the after editing one.
If you're on a touchscreen device, just tap on the picture. You may have to tap more than once.

Now, compare the old version and the new version!

Which one is better, I don’t know!
I would use the Slider Comparison, but it doesn’t like vertical photos.
ONTO THE EPIC VIDEO!!
The video covers ALLLLLL of everything I talked about in this post.
It focuses a lot on the Post-Modern pictures.
This video unedited was six hours and fifty minutes…
A month’s work of videos and projects!
Most of that was screen captures.
About four and a half hours were me sitting in front of the computer…working on the photos.
It was a wonderful time getting it edited.
That’s mostly why this took a month to do.
A whole week of that was editing the video!
Anyways, all the hard work paid off!
The video is long, as usual.
But not like…. atrociously long.
I got it done to just over an hour!
You can CLICK HERE to see the video or watch it below.

Ok, here’s the plan.
You’ll be seeing this video a lot.
Whenever I choose to upload one of the pictures an official Picture, that video will be at the bottom as the making of video.
I might make a separate short film style video based upon what picture I upload.
Just to keep things interesting.
Or I might just take it easy for another month!
We shall see!
I’m going to go.
I have to go worry about my car and what I’m going to do.
I’ll see you when I see you!!!!
